Built in 1888, this is P.E.I.'s oldest municipal centre. The beautiful building was built in the impressive Romanesque Revival style.
This building is home to a broad range of IT and new media companies, full-service business centers and technological training facilities. Fully-equipped conference rooms, a post-production studio and an interactive presentation theater venue are available.
In December 1810, one of Charlottetown's first apothecaries was opened in this spot. Renamed Apothecaries Hall in 1874, the original building was replaced in 1900. A plaque commemorating the sites history hangs on the side of the building, which now houses P.E.I.'s famous COWS Ice Cream.
The Charlottetown Conference on confederation was held here in 1864, leading to Charlottetown being known as the "Birthplace of Confederation". Home to the P.E.I. Provincial Legislature since its building. Restored to its 19th century glory, Province House sees conference reinactments during the summers. There are also video and interpretive presentations for visitors year round.
